About Stitched Hats

We make embroidered caps, based in Rowlett, Texas. Washed cotton dad hats stitched with designs people actually reach for every morning — faith, flags, family, animals, bad jokes, and whatever you want us to put on the front panel for you.

Thread, Not Ink

Most hats sold as “embroidered” online are not. They're vinyl pressed on with heat, or a printed patch glued to the front. It looks fine in the product photo. Six weeks later the edges lift, the colour dulls, and it starts peeling at the corner.

Everything we sell is real embroidery — thread stitched into fabric. It costs more, it takes longer, and it is the reason our hats still look right after a full summer of sun, sweat, and washing. A stitched design cannot crack or peel, because there is nothing sitting on top of the fabric to crack or peel off.

That single decision shapes everything else we do.

How a Design Becomes a Hat

• Digitizing. Artwork can't go straight onto a machine. It has to be converted into a stitch file, with every stitch direction, density, and thread colour mapped out first. This is the unglamorous step that decides whether embroidery comes out sharp or comes out muddy, and it's where most cheap embroidery goes wrong.
• Stitching. The design is embroidered directly into washed cotton twill, one thread colour at a time.
• Trimming and inspection. Backing is trimmed, loose threads are cleaned up, and every hat is checked by hand before it goes in the box. If it wouldn't pass on our own heads, it doesn't ship.

The Caps We Build On

We use soft washed cotton twill caps: an unstructured six-panel crown, pre-curved brim, stitched eyelets for airflow, and an adjustable back strap that fits most adults. The washed finish means they arrive already broken in, instead of sitting stiff and boxy on your head for the first three weeks.

Fourteen colours, from Black and Navy through Khaki, Maroon, Dark Green, Coffee, and White — so a design can land on a cap that actually goes with how you dress, rather than whatever colour was left.

Custom Work

A good share of what we ship is one-of-one: a name, a wedding date, a team logo, a pet's face. Custom work is also where things go wrong most easily, so we built the process around one rule — you see it before we stitch it.

We email you a digital proof for approval, with two rounds of revisions included free. Nothing goes on a machine until you've looked at it and said yes. Once you approve, the design is locked and production starts, so take a minute with the spelling and dates — we stitch exactly what you approve.

How Long It Takes

For custom orders, processing starts when you approve your proof rather than when you place the order. We'd rather quote you an honest timeline than a hopeful one and miss a date you were counting on.
